Introducing Nubbo — Your Cloud Storage, Simplified

Today we’re launching Nubbo, a free cloud storage manager designed to simplify how you work with your files in the cloud. If you use services like AWS S3 or DigitalOcean Spaces, Nubbo gives you a single, unified interface to browse, upload, and manage everything — without switching between dashboards.

What is Nubbo?

Nubbo is a management layer that sits on top of your existing cloud storage. It doesn’t store your files — all transfers happen directly between your browser and your provider using presigned URLs. Nubbo simply gives you a better way to interact with your buckets and objects.

Right now, Nubbo supports AWS S3 and DigitalOcean Spaces, two of the most popular S3-compatible storage services. Connect your credentials, and you’ll have all your buckets and files accessible from one place.

Nubbo already packs a solid set of features:

• Unified file browser — Navigate all your buckets and folders in a clean, modern interface with grid and list views.
• Drag & drop uploads — Drop files directly into the browser. Uploads go straight to your provider via presigned URLs.
• Media preview — Preview images, videos, audio files, and PDFs without leaving the app.
• File sharing — Generate shareable links with optional passwords, expiration dates, and download limits.
• Search — Find files across all your connected providers instantly.
• Keyboard shortcuts — Navigate and manage files efficiently. Press ? to see all available shortcuts.
• Dark & light themes — A clean, modern design that adapts to your preference.
• English & Spanish — Full interface available in both languages.

Security is not an afterthought

We take your credentials seriously. All provider credentials are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. The encryption key lives as an environment variable and never touches the database. Even in the unlikely event of a database breach, your credentials remain protected.

On top of that, Nubbo supports two-factor authentication (2FA) with TOTP and recovery codes, so your account stays safe.

And since all file transfers use presigned URLs, your files never pass through our servers. They go directly from your browser to your cloud provider.

What’s coming next

This is just the beginning. We have an ambitious roadmap full of features that will make Nubbo even more powerful:

• Code and Markdown preview — Open .js, .py, .json or .md files directly in the browser with syntax highlighting, without downloading them.
• Enhanced multimedia player — You can already preview videos and audio in-browser, but we’re building a dedicated player with playback controls, playlists, and a much better streaming experience.
• Advanced search filters — Filter by file size, modification date, file type, and more to find what you need in buckets with thousands of files.
• File Requests (Drop Box) — Generate a public link so your clients can send files directly to your bucket, no account needed. Perfect for photographers, videographers, and agencies.
• Version history — If your bucket has versioning enabled, browse and restore previous versions of any file.
• Visual trash bin — A safety net before permanent deletion, so you never lose a file by accident.
• Client-side encryption — Encrypt files in your browser before uploading. Zero-knowledge privacy — not even Nubbo can see what’s inside.
• Copy between buckets — Move and copy files between any of your buckets, even across different providers, without leaving the interface.
• Basic image editing — Crop, rotate, and resize images before uploading or in-place.
• More providers — We’re working on adding support for additional cloud storage services.
