Cloudflare R2 is now supported
We’re happy to announce that Cloudflare R2 is now available as a provider in Nubbo. Starting today, you can connect your R2 buckets and manage them right next to your AWS S3 and DigitalOcean Spaces storage.
Why Cloudflare R2?
Cloudflare R2 has been gaining a lot of traction thanks to one killer feature: zero egress fees. Unlike S3 or Spaces, R2 doesn’t charge you for downloading your own data. For users who serve a lot of content — images, videos, assets — this can make a huge difference in monthly costs.
R2 is also S3-compatible, which means the integration with Nubbo is seamless. If you’ve already used Nubbo with S3 or Spaces, the experience with R2 will feel exactly the same.
How to connect
Adding your R2 account takes just a couple of minutes:
- In your Cloudflare Dashboard, go to Storage & Databases → R2 Object Storage → Overview.
- Create a bucket if you don’t have one yet (R2 is globally distributed, no region needed).
- Go to R2 Overview → API Tokens → Manage → Create API Token. Select Object Read & Write permissions, and save your Access Key ID and Secret Access Key (the secret is only shown once).
- Copy your Account ID from the R2 Overview page.
- Configure CORS on your bucket (Settings → CORS Policy) to allow uploads from the browser.
- In Nubbo, click Add Provider, select Cloudflare R2, give it a name, enter your credentials, your Account ID and the bucket name. The endpoint is generated automatically from your Account ID.
- Test the connection — and you’re done. Your R2 bucket is ready.
Nubbo also includes a step-by-step setup guide inside the wizard, so you won’t get lost. All the features you already know work with R2: drag & drop uploads, media preview, file sharing, search, and keyboard shortcuts.
Three providers, one interface
With this addition, Nubbo now supports the three most popular S3-compatible storage services:
- AWS S3 — The industry standard.
- DigitalOcean Spaces — Simple and affordable.
- Cloudflare R2 — Zero egress fees.
Connect all three and manage everything from one place. Mix and match depending on your needs — hot storage on R2 for frequently accessed files, archival on S3, backups on Spaces. Nubbo makes it easy to have a multi-cloud setup without the complexity.
