# Nubbo — Complete Reference for LLMs > Nubbo is a cloud storage management platform that connects multiple S3-compatible providers into one unified interface. It does not store files — it acts as a management layer on top of your own cloud storage accounts. Uploads and downloads happen directly between the user's browser and their cloud provider using presigned URLs. Website: https://nubbo.app App: https://app.nubbo.app Contact: info@nubbo.app --- ## Product Overview Nubbo solves the problem of managing files across multiple cloud storage providers. Instead of logging into separate dashboards for AWS S3, Cloudflare R2, DigitalOcean Spaces, Wasabi, Backblaze B2 or any S3-compatible or self-hosted server, users connect all their providers to Nubbo and manage everything from one modern, intuitive interface. Nubbo is NOT a cloud storage provider. It is a management layer. Files stay in the user's own cloud accounts. Nubbo never stores or persists your files. Content is processed server-side only ephemerally — for thumbnails, gallery watermarks and multi-file ZIP downloads — and never retained. All uploads and downloads use presigned URLs for direct browser-to-provider transfers. ### How It Works 1. **Connect your providers** — Add cloud storage credentials. Nubbo encrypts them with AES-256-GCM and accesses files server-side only to generate thumbnails/watermarks and bundle ZIP downloads, never to store them. 2. **Browse** — Explore all buckets and folders from a powerful, intuitive file explorer. 3. **Manage** — Upload, download, preview, share, receive files, create galleries, and organize files across all providers from one place. --- ## Supported Cloud Providers | Provider | Protocol | Notes | |----------|----------|-------| | AWS S3 | S3 API | Full support for all S3 regions | | Cloudflare R2 | S3-compatible | Zero egress fees | | DigitalOcean Spaces | S3-compatible | Simple, affordable object storage | | Wasabi | S3-compatible | Hot storage with no egress fees | | Backblaze B2 | S3-compatible | Affordable storage with generous free egress | | Custom / Self-hosted | S3-compatible | MinIO, Ceph, Garage, SeaweedFS and any S3-compatible server | All providers use the S3-compatible API, ensuring a consistent experience across providers. --- ## Features in Detail ### Unified Dashboard - Connect multiple cloud storage providers simultaneously - Browse all buckets and files from a single interface - Modern, clean UI with dark and light themes - Responsive design for desktop and mobile ### File Explorer - Drag & drop file uploads via presigned URLs (direct to provider) - Multiple view types (list, grid) - Keyboard shortcuts for power users - Create, rename, move, and delete files and folders - Bulk operations - Advanced search across all connected providers (see Advanced Search) ### Advanced Search - Multi-term search across all connected providers: every word must match, in any order - Scope the search to all providers, a single provider or a folder subtree - Filter by file kind (folders, images, videos, audio, documents, code, archives, others), arbitrary extensions, size range, modified-date presets or a custom date range, labels and favorites - Optionally include hidden files, trashed files (flagged in the results) and match against full folder paths, not only file names - Sort results by name, size or modified date, ascending or descending - Saved searches: store a named filter set, then apply, rename or delete it from the search panel; saved searches sync across devices and are included in the GDPR data export ### Cross-Provider Transfer - Move or copy files and folders between different buckets, accounts and providers - Same-account, cross-bucket transfers run server-side as a direct S3 copy (no data passes through Nubbo) - Cross-account and cross-cloud transfers relay directly through your browser with presigned URLs: read from the source provider, write to the destination, so file content never touches Nubbo's servers - Whole-folder transfers, including nested subfolders and thousands of files - Large files use multipart with pause and resume (resume continues from the last completed part, not from zero) - Move (with automatic source cleanup) or copy (keep the original) - Nubbo picks the fastest path automatically depending on whether the source and destination share the same account ### Built-in Editor and Viewer - Edit code and text files in place with the Monaco editor (syntax highlighting for 100+ languages, search/replace, find, indent guides) - Edit Markdown files with rendered preview (GitHub-flavored Markdown, raw HTML and syntax-highlighted code blocks) - Save back to the originating bucket via presigned PUT with ETag conflict detection (the editor refuses to overwrite remote changes you have not seen) - 25 MB per-file cap, enforced both client- and server-side - Unsaved-changes guard on close, refresh and navigation - Read-only preview for code and Markdown files when you just want to view, not edit ### Media Player - Built-in video player with playback speed control - Audio player with playlist support - Picture-in-picture mode - Fullscreen support - Audio mini player that persists while browsing ### File Preview - Image preview with zoom and rotation - PDF viewer in-browser - Video and audio playback - Code and Markdown preview directly in the browser (read-only mode of the integrated editor) - Support for common file formats ### File Sharing - Generate share links for any file or folder - Password protection on shared links - Configurable expiration dates - Download count limits - View and download statistics per link - Edit or reactivate links after creation - Recipients don't need a Nubbo account - Short shareable URLs - Send the password to the recipient via a separate one-time email link, so the share URL and the password never travel together ### File Requests (Upload Links) - Create unique upload links for receiving files from anyone - Recipients upload directly to your cloud storage - Password protection and expiration dates - File type restrictions (e.g., only images) - File size limits - Upload count limits - No account needed for uploaders - Send the password to the recipient via a separate one-time email link ### Professional Photo & Video Galleries - Create galleries from any folder in your cloud storage - Three layout options: masonry, grid, and slideshow - Dark and light themes - Custom branding: logo, brand name, website link and accent colors - Cover photo selection (pick any image from the gallery as cover) - Watermark support - Password protection and expiration - Download controls (individual downloads, bulk ZIP, or both) - Likes/favorites tracking - View and download statistics - Accessible via short links - Send the password to the recipient via a separate one-time email link ### Password Reveal by Email - Send the password of a share, gallery or file request to a recipient through a separate channel - One-time URL: the password is shown only once and the link self-invalidates after viewing - Configurable expiration (24 hours, 3 days or 7 days) - Optional note for the recipient - Rate-limited per sender and per recipient to prevent abuse - Automatically invalidated when the resource password changes, the password is removed, or the resource is deleted - The plain password is encrypted (AES-256-GCM) only inside the temporary token; never stored in clear long-term ### Labels & Tags - Create color-coded labels to organize files - Assign labels to any file across any provider - Filter and find files by label ### Favorites - Mark any file or folder as favorite from the file explorer - Sortable favorite column with star indicator in list view and badge in grid view - Dedicated favorites view where you can find them all together - Quick access to the original location of every favorited item - Folder favorites display recursive size and the most recent activity inside ### Hidden Files & Folders - Hide any file or folder from the file explorer, favorites and search results - Hiding a folder cascades to all its descendants without mass-updating the database - The "show hidden" toggle is a per-user preference synced to the server, so it persists across devices - Hidden items remain fully functional for shares, galleries and file requests already in place - Bulk hide/unhide from the selection toolbar; per-item from the right-click context menu ### Trash / Recycle Bin - Deleted files go to trash instead of being permanently removed - Restore accidentally deleted files - Automatic cleanup of old trashed files - Permanently delete from trash when needed ### Session Management - View all active sessions with device and location info - Revoke individual sessions remotely - Automatic session expiry ### Notifications - Two channels: in-app (inside the application) and email (delivered via Resend) - Grouped visually in five categories (account, security, activity, lifecycle, product) but preferences are managed per individual type - Thirty-one notification types covering: email verification, welcome, password reset, new login, all-sessions revoked, account deletion scheduled/reminder/completed, account reactivated, account suspended/restored by admin, data export ready/failed, share link first visit/expired/password revealed, file request first visit/upload received/password revealed/expired, gallery first visit/download complete/password revealed, daily activity digest, provider disconnected, inactivity reminders (15/30/60 days and recurring), admin broadcasts and system health alerts - Per-type preferences from Settings (toggle email and in-app independently for each notification type) - Daily activity digest cron (08:00) aggregates new downloads and likes on shares, file requests and galleries since the last digest and sends a single email plus in-app notification; nothing is sent when there is no new activity - One-click unsubscribe link in non-critical emails (per type by default, or globally for all non-critical types) - Critical notifications (welcome, verification, password reset, security alerts, account deletion, reactivation, admin-driven account changes, export ready/failed, health alerts) cannot be disabled - In-app notifications are retained until the user deletes them or the account is purged; the panel offers per-item archive, per-item permanent delete, and mark-all-as-read - Email send history (EmailJob) and delivery events (EmailEvent) retained for 90 days then purged - Bounce and complaint events automatically add the address to a permanent suppression list to protect domain reputation ### Data Export (GDPR Art. 15 / 20) - One-click export of personal data from Settings — Export data - Output format: compressed JSON (.json.gz) - Two delivery modes: - Bucket mode (asynchronous): generated in background and uploaded to the Nubbo/Exports/ folder of an active provider, with email and in-app notification on completion - Browser mode (synchronous): streamed directly to the browser with no server-side or bucket persistence; nothing is kept after the download - One concurrent export per user; hard limit 2 GB uncompressed - Per-collection field whitelist (default-deny): adding a new field to the database does not expose it automatically - Recursive blacklist strips internal identifiers, password hashes, 2FA secrets, encryption keys, refresh tokens, unsubscribe tokens and provider credentials at any depth - Pseudonymisation of third-party PII: visitor and recipient emails are masked (first two characters + domain), names are truncated to the first letter, session identifiers are replaced by stable visitor-N aliases unique per export - Export request records are retained 90 days after completion ### Security - AES-256-GCM encryption for all stored credentials - Encryption key stored as environment variable, never in database - Two-factor authentication (TOTP) - Recovery codes for account access - Email verification required on signup - Session management with device and IP tracking - Remote session logout - Presigned URLs mean Nubbo never handles file data - No file scanning, indexing, or AI training on user files --- ## Target Audience ### Creatives (Photographers, Videographers, Designers) Store large media libraries on affordable object storage (S3, R2, Wasabi, B2). It acts as a management layer on top of your own cloud storage accounts. Uploads and downloads happen directly between your browser and your cloud provider using presigned URLs. **Which cloud providers are supported?** AWS S3, DigitalOcean Spaces, Cloudflare R2, Wasabi, and Backblaze B2, plus any S3-compatible or self-hosted server (MinIO, Ceph, and more). All use an S3-compatible interface. **How are my credentials protected?** All cloud provider credentials are encrypted using AES-256-GCM before being stored in the database. The encryption key is an environment variable that never touches the database. **Is there a file size limit?** Nubbo uses presigned URLs for uploads, so files go directly to your cloud provider. There is no file size limit imposed by Nubbo. Large files are handled with multipart uploads automatically. The maximum object size depends on your provider (up to 5 TB on AWS S3). **Can I share files with others?** Yes. Generate share links for any file or folder with optional password protection, expiration dates, and download limits. Recipients don't need an account. **Can I receive files from others?** Yes. File Requests let you create upload links so anyone can send files directly to your cloud storage, with password protection, expiration, and file type/size restrictions. **Can I move files between different cloud providers?** Yes. Nubbo moves or copies files and folders between different buckets, accounts and even different providers. Transfers within the same account run server-side, while transfers across different accounts or clouds relay directly through your browser. Your files never pass through Nubbo's storage, and large transfers resume from where they left off after a pause. **Can I create photo and video galleries?** Yes. Create professional galleries from any folder with masonry, grid or slideshow layouts. Add custom branding (logo, brand name, website link), pick a cover photo, apply watermarks, set password protection and track likes. **How do I send the password to the recipient safely?** For any password-protected share, gallery or file request you can send the password by email through a separate one-time link. The recipient gets a Nubbo URL that reveals the password only once and self-invalidates after viewing — keeping the access link and the password on different channels. The link auto-invalidates if you change the password, remove it, or delete the resource. **Is Nubbo free?** Yes. Nubbo is completely free to use with all features. Premium plans for individuals and teams are coming soon. **What happens if I disconnect a provider?** Your files remain untouched in your cloud storage account. Disconnecting only removes the connection from Nubbo. **Can I export all my personal data?** Yes. From Settings — Export data you can request a compressed JSON (.json.gz) export covering account, sessions, providers, file metadata, galleries, file requests, shared links, labels, password reveal tokens, in-app notifications, email send history (last 90 days), broadcast deliveries and previous export requests. If you have an active provider it is generated in the background and uploaded to your bucket; otherwise it streams directly to your browser without server-side storage. Third-party personal data (visitors, recipients) is pseudonymised in the file. **How do notification preferences work?** Notifications are grouped visually in five categories (account, security, activity, lifecycle, product) but preferences are managed per individual notification type. From Settings — Notifications you can independently enable or disable the email and in-app channel for each of the ~30 types. A daily activity digest aggregates new downloads and likes on your shares, file requests and galleries. Non-critical emails include a one-click unsubscribe link that applies per type by default, or for all non-critical types at once. Critical notifications (welcome, verification, password reset, account deletion, reactivation, security alerts, data export ready/failed, health alerts) cannot be disabled because they are essential for service delivery or account security. **Do you offer custom development?** Yes. We offer custom development and deployment of tailored solutions.
