Backblaze B2 File Manager: Browse B2 Buckets
We’re happy to announce that Backblaze B2 is now available as a provider in Nubbo. Starting today, you can connect your B2 buckets and manage them right next to your AWS S3, Cloudflare R2, DigitalOcean Spaces and Wasabi storage.
Why Backblaze B2?
Backblaze B2 is one of the most affordable S3-compatible object storage services out there. Storage costs $6 per TB per month ($0.006/GB), and the first 10 GB are free, so you can start without spending anything.
Its egress model is one of the most generous in the industry: downloads are free up to three times the amount of data you store each month, and only $0.01/GB beyond that. For backups, media libraries and large datasets, B2 keeps your bill low and predictable.
B2 is fully S3-compatible, so the integration with Nubbo is seamless. If you’ve already used Nubbo with another provider, the experience with B2 will feel exactly the same.
How to connect
Adding your B2 account takes just a few minutes:
- In your Backblaze account, open B2 Cloud Storage and create a bucket (keep it Private).
- In the bucket’s Lifecycle Settings, choose Keep only the last version of the file so deletions free up space.
- Note the bucket’s endpoint (for example
s3.eu-central-003.backblazeb2.com) and pick that exact region in Nubbo. - Create an Application Key with Read and Write access to your bucket, and save the keyID and applicationKey (the secret is only shown once).
- Configure CORS so the browser can upload. B2’s console form only allows downloads, so set custom rules with the Backblaze B2 command-line tool, including the
s3_putoperation. - In Nubbo, click Add Provider, select Backblaze B2, enter your credentials, region and bucket name. The endpoint is filled in automatically.
- Test the connection, and you’re done.
Nubbo includes a step-by-step setup guide inside the wizard, with the exact CORS rules to copy. We’ve also published a full setup guide on the blog.
Five providers, one interface
With this addition, Nubbo now supports five of the most popular S3-compatible storage services:
- AWS S3: the industry standard.
- Cloudflare R2: zero egress fees.
- DigitalOcean Spaces: simple and affordable.
- Wasabi: hot storage with no egress fees.
- Backblaze B2: affordable storage with generous free egress.
Beyond these five, you can also connect any S3-compatible or self-hosted server, so your own endpoint sits right next to the managed providers.
Connect any combination and manage everything from one place. Mix and match depending on your needs, without the complexity of juggling multiple consoles.
